Philip Bakelaar's base full time work is as a parish clergy within the Reformed Church in America for the past 37 years. He is a curious explorer of the scriptures and has shared many insights as a regular participant in the GLEN Writers cohort.
But Phil is also President and founding member of the International Forum of Visual Practitioners Institute has been a member of IFVP and a board member since the 2015. He is also the president of IFVP itself.
Dr. Bakelaar holds a PhD in Rhetoric and Communication from Temple University. In addition to his pastoral work and IFVP work he is an active adjunct professor at Montclair State University since 1992. His many course cover communications theory, visualization, AI, organizational development, and others.
He serves on many nonprofit boards.
Please join Phil and David Sibbet, co-director of The GLEN for a wonderful inquiry into how scriptures can provide an integrating framework thinking about our lives. David is the oldest son of a Presbyterian Minister and has shared Phil's interest in the scriptures, having been raised with them as guideposts for many years.
